Why do you think the Albuquerque jail is so overcrowded? (Photo credit: Albuquerque Journal)

Metropolitan Bail Bonds Albuquerque is in constant contact with defendants and hear so many stories about probation officers and pretrial officers violating them for so many reasons. Whether the defendant should be violated or not, as stated by most defendants, it seems defendants are being violated often and are spending weeks in jail waiting for the PV hearing. The sad part is most these people are working and have kids they are taking care of and because probation violations have no-bond holds, there life's are totally disrupted. Perhaps violaters should remain out of custody, while awaiting a probation violation hearing. Either with bail bond or on their own recognicance. This way the jail is not so overcrowded. Let the judge decide if probation should be reinstated (as in many cases) or send the defendant to the New Mexico Department of Corrections. What are your thoughts?
