The most important thing to consider when bailing someone out is the forfeiture process

If a defendant fails to appear in court the full bond amount is not immediately due

The defendant has several options to prevent the bond from being forfeited

FIRST: contact attorney and file a motion to get a new hearing

SECOND: appear at the bond forfeiture hearing

THIRD: if possible pay the bond on the warrant

FOURTH: if a defendant is refusing to be responsible, the court will give us about 3 months to surrender the defendant back to jail

If we fail to complete any of the above options the bond will be ordered forfeited and the cosigner is signing an agreement indemnifying the bail company
